新しい冒険 (A new adventure)

Today I was enjoying a “mochachino” in a local cafe when it hit me, I have been on a long search for a great cafe here in Japan. So far, it has been fruitful; I have seen a variety of establishments, each offering a unique window into the world of coffee and the belief in a “local establishment.” Or, maybe, some have been of a different variety; places that are just 無地 (muji) bland but still offer us something for comparison.

I think finding good coffee and a good cafe is both easy and difficult. I have been to some great stores that served mediocre coffee and vise-versa. Finding a good cup of coffee is complex too; the bean, the process, the equipment, and the care that goes into a drink varies from store to store and opinions from person to person. The same can be said of the stores themselves; the customers, the staff, and the general atmosphere of a store has charmed me into the front door of many coffee shops.

Point being, this site is simply the opinions of the writers who have visited the many places represented within the blogs. Opinions and tastes are so varying that we of course understand that other visitors may disagree, and that’s great! The purpose of this blog is to allow myself and fellow writers to blog about our experiences at all different kinds of coffee shops, cafes, and 喫茶店(kissaten). Maybe you will find our articles interesting or even useful, but I hope you enjoy the experience of “finding that special coffee shop” as much as we do.
