Great looking shop, impressive facility, love the roaster as the centerpiece, these guys are professionals and really do their craft well. With beautiful decor, well designed, very hip, its obvious that a lot of money was put into that place. That being said, I expected more. A lot more. Both the drinks and service left a lot to be desired. I was really not a fan of their espresso, it was a little too ordinary for me. The milk texture was phenomenal, but overall it really just didn’t wow me in comparison to other good shops in the city. Also, I got almost n0 customer/barista interaction. That isn’t a job requirement for them, I guess, but it is important for me as a barista to connect to my customers and share my passion. Again, the place and my drink looked great, and these guys are at the top of the game in terms of coffee, but the final product and experience did not live up to its own image. It felt like “smoke and mirrors” with how beautiful the shop was and my perception of their substance, both in terms of my drink and the staff. I could see them taking the best elements of other leading stores and combining their best aspects, but that again just made me feel they lacked originality.
I like:
- The barista island
